Surprise!! We’re having another baby!
We were pretty busy this quarantine (in more ways than one! HAHA!) These two toddlers have kept us constantly on our toes as we were faced with the tough decision of keeping them home for their safety. Both my husband and I were working remotely since the pandemic started and managing two kids under three while trying to work full time, keep the house clean, and cook healthy meals was definitely hard work!
Despite the chaos, we have always planned to have a third child. We didn’t want to let the craziness of quarantine get in the way of our life plans. We know adding a third baby will certainly add some more stress to our lives, but we’re over the moon to welcome a new child into our home.
Since our first two were 14 months apart, it was certainly tough to manage two kids so close together. The baby stage was pretty easy, but once we had both very mobile and energetic toddlers, things got a little crazy. We’re hopeful that this next age gap (28 months from the youngest) will be much easier to control.
It can’t get any harder than 2 under 18 months right?!

This pregnancy so far has been the easiest which was very unexpected for me. The first two were definitely not too much of a struggle, compared to some first trimester horror stories I’ve heard, but this one was barely even noticeable! I didn’t have any morning sickness or other common first trimester symptoms, just increased fatigue which put me in bed by 8pm.
The fact that I haven’t had any symptoms made it a little nerve-wracking with wondering if this pregnancy would even stick. However, it also made me not think about the baby too much because I wasn’t feeling anything and the kids kept me too busy to have any other thoughts besides them!
It’s also made it a little difficult to become attached to this baby. I don’t feel the same bond as I did with the first two because I was just consumed with thoughts about the baby constantly. It makes me a little sad to not have that, but I’m sure with time it will come. Once I feel the kicks and hiccups, I’m sure the attachment will start.
We’re hoping to make the gender of this one a surprise since we found out very early with the first two and we already have one of each. I was hoping for a specific gender with those, but this one I don’t feel as strongly about. Either way, they’re going to have the best sibling bond ever 🙂
I’ll definitely be updating you all along the way from pregnancy to childbirth so stay tuned! We’re so excited to grow our family and I can’t wait to make so many more memories with these kids!
