When the holidays roll around, sometimes finding that perfect gift can be tough. You may think of ideas all year round, but when the pressure is on, it’s tough to come up with something unique and fitting for the recipient.
If you’re getting ready to get a gift for a family who loves to travel, I have a great list of ideas for you! Having two young toddlers myself and a love for travel, I’m always looking for the most efficient ways to travel.
Here are a few items that make traveling with toddlers and little ones much more convenient. If you’re the one who likes to travel, get them for your own family because who says you can’t treat yourself?
WAYB Pico Travel Car Seat
This WAYB Pico car seat is the ultimate travel buddy if you’re flying with a toddler! We’ve gone on a couple of flights without buying our children their own seat (to save a few bucks), but it was miserable! Now that one of our children is 2, we need to bite the bullet and pay for the extra seat.
This usually would mean lugging a heavy car seat on and off the plane, but not since we found the WAYB Pico Travel Car Seat. It takes all the strain of carrying a heavy, bulky car seat through the airport, on the plane, and to the rental car. It’s super lightweight (only 8lbs) and folds up compactly for easy carrying and storage.
I love that you can use this both on the airplane and in the rental car so your child is always safe during travel. The ease and convenience are so worth it if you travel often by plane.
Fun n Fly Tray
My daughter loves to color and do puzzles and she could be entertained by both of those for awhile. However, while on a flight, strapped back to the seat, there’s no space for her to do that.
This Fun N Fly Tray is perfect for keeping items on the tray in front of her and offering a large enough space to play on. It has enough straps to hold things down like cups or snacks, as well.
Jet-Kids BedBox by Stokke
The Jet-Kids BedBox is a spacious carryon-size suitcase that children can ride on through airports and contains a cushion piece that transforms the airplane seat into a better place to rest for little ones.
Child Headphones
These headphones are small enough to fit your little one’s head and provide excellent sound quality for use with entertainment devices. We know that toddlers and young children need to be constantly busy, especially when keeping them entertained on a long flight.
So whether they use an iPad, Switch, or tablet, these will be a great way to let them listen to their videos or games all while not disturbing the rest of the passengers.
Backpack Diaper Bag
Whether or not your toddlers are potty trained, a diaper bag is always a must-have while traveling. Forget about taking a purse or large tote as a carry-on because a diaper bag has a waterproof lining and plenty of compartments to store sippy cups, snacks, toys, and games to give your toddlers busy through a flight or long car ride. They’re even great because of the insulated pockets that most provide.
I love my Freshly Picked Backpack Leather Diaper Bag. It’s perfectly stylish, offering so much room, and best of all- backpack straps for hands-free travel! Using a regular over-the-shoulder diaper bag before I found this one gave me such a headache! Families who travel often will love this item.
Car seat/Stroller bag
If your kids are either too young or too old to use a car seat on the plane and you need to check a stroller or car seat prior to boarding, you will definitely need a car seat/stroller bag.
If these items mean anything to you and you don’t want to see them get ruined, bring these car seat and stroller bags for protection. We made the mistake of *attempting* to put our car seat in a large garbage bag and it was damaged by the time we got it. It also didn’t even fit very well!
Invest in one of these travel bags and you’ll be really happy that you did.
Cares Child Safety Harness
If you’re not ready to splurge on the WAYB travel car seat, the CARES safety harness is a great investment for airplane safety and convenience. If your child is getting their own seat, the single lap belt on the planes just won’t cut it.
This harness provides is super light for you to carry right in your carry-on and will keep your child belted in with a 5-point harness for the entire flight.
The whole system is what you see here, including only one piece for the whole harness. It folds up super compact, making it a convenient way to travel with a young child.
. . . . .
Traveling with young children doesn’t have to be so stressful. Some of these items will make your trip much less chaotic and much more memorable.
