How to Diffuse Oils
Finding an affordable diffuser like this one is easy to do. After purchasing a diffuser, read the directions for setup and you are ready to begin diffusing! Usually this is as simple as adding a little water and the appropriate amount of oil to start enjoying and finding relief.
Where to Get Your Essential Oils?
It’s important to buy essential oils from reputable sources. A lot of essential oils can contain other ingredients and are not 100% essential oil.
This can actually be harmful or can negate the health and chemical-free effects that you are going for.
Simply Earth is a company that makes all-natural essential oils with no fragrance, no fillers, just 100% PURE essential oils. They are also a fraction of the price of those high-end companies like Young Living and DoTerra.
9 Essential Oils for Pregnancy
Bergamot
Bergamot is one of the great essential oils for pregnancy use. This oil has many benefits including anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral. Bergamot is a great addition to helping you (and the whole family) stay healthy throughout your pregnancy and beyond.
Bergamot is a citrus oil, giving it a very fresh scent that you will enjoy. In addition to its health benefits, it is also excellent for boosting your spirits naturally and decreasing stress. Both of which can be nasty visitors throughout pregnancy. This is a great oil to diffuse.
Grapefruit
Grapefruit is another citrus essential oil for pregnancy that is great for beginners and has multiple benefits. Citrus oils, like grapefruit, are a great way to fight fatigue, boost your mood, and decrease stress.
Place the drops of Grapefruit in your diffuser to begin filling your home with delicious scent and at the same time boost your home’s mood and immunity!
Lemon
As another great safe pregnancy essential oil, lemon is a fantastic way to reduce stress and has a delicious scent too. Many women pair this with ginger as they both have properties that can help decrease nausea making them a morning sickness powerhouse when paired together.
If you are struggling with nausea and vomiting throughout any part of your pregnancy, definitely give lemon and ginger essential oils a try.

Orange essential oils smells amazing and will help you reduce stress and anxiety. It will also help you feel happy, relaxed and can help with morning sickness, too.
Lavender
Lavender is one of the best essential oils in my opinion. This oil smells heavenly and has a list of benefits.
Lavender is a great remedy for:
- Headaches/migraines
- Insomnia
- Nausea
- Aches/pains
- Anxiety/stress
Place a few drops in your diffuser to start reaping the rewards of this fantastic essential oil for pregnancy and postpartum.
TIP: Try adding a few drops to a warm, wet washcloth and place it on your head for headache relief.
Ylang Ylang
Ylang ylang is a great oil for promoting relaxation. This is a great oil to use in the evenings and to help treat pregnancy insomnia (that nasty stuff). Ylang ylang has a very pleasant, feminine scent and it’s also used to decrease mood swings and irritability. Similar to Lavender in its benefits, you can try different oils to see which ones work best for you.
Chamomile
One of the greatest benefits of Chamomile is using it as a sleep aid. Place a diffuser in your bedroom at night and diffuse while you get ready for bed. This is a great oil to help with relaxation and treating pregnancy insomnia.
TIP: Do you have other little ones in the house you are always trying to get down for sleep peacefully? I hear ya. Start diffusing this close to the little one’s bedtime, too. Bedtime might just go a little smoother for you, expecting mama.
Ginger
Morning sickness or nausea through all trimesters effect a lot of pregnant women. While nausea and vomiting are obviously no fun, try diffusing ginger and lemon or place a drop of ginger in a glass of water and sip to help decrease nausea. Even just the smell can be a huge relief when you feel a wave of morning sickness coming on.
Peppermint
Peppermint is another one of the great essential oils for pregnancy. This oil is known for aiding with digestion and decreasing nausea and vomiting. Besides diffusing to decrease nausea, simply take the cap off the bottle and gently smell the oil as a quick relief from nausea waves.
Not only is this a great essential oil for pregnancy, it can also bring you great relief in the labor and delivery room too. I personally used this during my labors to relieve nausea and it helped so much! Keep a bottle of this in your hospital bag that way if you end up feeling nauseous during labor, you have it available to you.
