Easter is such a great time of year. The weather is getting warmer, flowers are blooming, and birds are chirping! Spring just puts me in a better mood! It’s also time to get those Easter baskets ready for your children with these non-candy Easter Basket ideas for toddlers.
On Easter this year, I will have a 5, 4, and 2 year old. I put together their Easter baskets based on current interests, skills, and abilities.
My kids love to color, use stickers, throw balls, cuddle their stuffed animals, and explore anything new they can get their hands on. My infant loves toys he can easily grasp, teethers, music, and bright colors.
The little one is still a bit young to understand the meaning of Easter baskets and even gifts, but I still wanted to make their day special.

Choosing Candy Alternatives
I don’t like giving my children candy. My oldest daughter is 5 and although she gets sweets occasionally, I like to limit as much as I can.
Of course, she’ll always have it at a birthday party, special occasion, or even as a last-resort bribe. However, I like to limit it to those specific times. I figure, if she doesn’t know what she’s missing, she won’t miss it!
Now with all these recent holidays that drive revenue through sugary snacks, it’s getting harder and harder to limit it. Easter is a time when businesses advertise chocolate, candy, and sweets.
You can’t walk into a grocery or department store the month before Easter without being greeted with chocolate bunnies, marshmallow peeps, or brightly colored jellybeans.
This tactic will surely grab your child’s attention. After all, what toddler isn’t going to scream for the life-sized chocolate bunny on display?
When making my children’s Easter baskets, I would rather not put any candy in them. So I’ve come up with some Easter Basket alternatives to give my children instead of straight sugar.
