Free Printable Magic Reindeer Food Poem for Christmas Eve

We’ve been able to start so many new Christmas traditions as a family this year, now that my son and daughter are old enough to really understand the magic of the holiday. Some of those traditions included Elf on the Shelf, advent calendars, baking Christmas cookies, sipping holiday drinks, decorating their own felt Christmas tree, and watching the trains under the Christmas tree.

Another one of those adorable traditions that we started last year is making magic reindeer food. We sprinkle some magic reindeer food on our lawn on Christmas Eve night so that Santa’s reindeer will find our house!

Watch your children’s faces in complete delight as they imagine Santa’s reindeer making a stop at their house when they find their magic reindeer food!

Last year, after we put out the reindeer food, about 6 or 7 real deer came prancing into our lawn. My daughter was already in bed, but we had to get her out just to show her the deer!

She was amazed that her magic reindeer food worked and we were so ecstatic about the perfect timing of these deer!

I used regular Quaker Oats and some sprinkles I had around the house. If you love baking Christmas cookies and doing festive things with your little ones during the holiday season, you probably have plenty of Christmas-themed sprinkles and decorations.

Simply use red and green sprinkles or anything that shimmers and shines. Your little ones will be excited that Santa’s reindeer can see the sparkles shining through the night sky so try to make it extra sparkly!
